✰ INTRODUCTION

Name: Mariko ( 万里子 ) Nakamura ( 中村 )
Age: 17 (23rd May)
Gender: Female
Height: 165 cm
Weight: 55 kg
Nationality: Japanese
Year: Junior
Class: 2-B
Voice: voice sample (3:03 -3:42)

✰ ALTERNATE FORM

Alias: Shark Tooth
Element: Metal
Weapon:

1. Gunaxe
A big axe, functioning as a gun for long-range attacks as well. For more stability and better accuracy, the gunaxe becomes like an extension of her arms in close combat, by magnetically attaching itself to her. Of course, this leaves her defences open as well.

2. Adamas
???

Level: 30
Stats:

STR 100 SPD 60
LCK 25 VIT 85
INT 90

Skills:

regular: 1. Antigravity
antigravity is a skill that lets Mariko magnetise an inanimate object and thus lets her reach it much faster, making herself, or chains the other magnetic pole .  She tends to use her chains to balance the whole process out, as leaping through the air without any control easily leaves her vulnerable. [ Slow opponent down for the next three turns. (50% SPD reduce). Chance to hit remains like a regular attack. 2 SP]

regular: 2. Spark shot
Fires a series of bullets at her opponent. While this attack has high accuracy because the bullets automatically hone in on the target, it also leaves her vulnerable in the long run. This is why it is only used at a safe distance and functions like a sniper rifle- or if she's unnoticed. [ Two consecutive hits at 100% aim. Hits for full damage (Str/2). Takes two turns to be used, as she needs to position herself properly first. Speed is reduced by 50% for the next five turns after use. 3 SP]

✰ BIOGRAPHY

Personality:
disciplined | organised |hard-working | determined | stubborn | tense | reserved | authoritative | protective | workaholic | prone to sleeping issues | often forgets to eat and drink enough | takes things personal too easily | quick to hold grudges | judgemental

Mariko is the epitome of a dedicated and disciplined student who puts her position as the student council president as top priority at all times. She takes her work extremely seriously and expects the same from everyone else. This rings especially true with the student council body, whom she demands 100% of their dedication from at all times. This, however, doesn't make her cold-hearted, as she does care for them and their well-being a lot. Her hard expectations on herself and her surroundings lead to her tendency to tense up and often forget about important health matters like consuming enough food and liquid.

Her authoritative personality might make it hard to get along with her, but behind its shell is a girl who sincerely wants the best for the people she cares about, the school, and in the end, herself. She does try to show affection in her own way, if she's found a liking to you. It might not be a very outspoken type of inclination but she has never been good at that kind of social interaction, neither has she ever considered getting to know them.

Mariko often overworks herself and reacts touchily to the subject of taking better care of herself, unless she truly respects you. She does not mind receiving criticism on her work or effort, but if it concerns her personal life, which she rarely speaks of, she tends to become sensitive and thus react too harshly. She also has the tendency to overthink the issue if people call her out on being too serious or not knowing how to have fun.

Likes/Dislikes:
: salty snacks and food, track, student council, winter, sleeping in (although she usually feels like she can only do that on sundays), her watch, sunomono, pretzel sticks, jrock, quiz shows
: cats (allergic), monkeys, tomatoes, lousy mouths, breaking the rules, grocery shopping, rain, excessive heat, flirty people, the sound of writing with chalk on the black board, fluff on her clothes, clowns, frogs

History:
Mariko was born in this town, and she will most likely die in this town. At least that is what she's been telling herself ever since.  She doesn't have a particularly strong reason to connect to Sugigawa like other people might have, whose grand-grand-grand parents have been living here. There are no roots. Her parents simply decided to settle down in this particular town by faith, or luck; she's never given it much thought.

Nevertheless, she's grown attached to this city, as it may happen to most. Hometowns are close to one's heart after all. Her little brother, however, begs to differ. He's glad the town is finally changing for the better. He is especially excited about the cinemas and arcades, and other things Mariko has never thought of seeing the insides of, but he's a dreamer; he wants to go big. Tokyo maybe, or even leaving Japan, who knows.

But she's not like him. She's a realist. Or a pessimist. It's hair splitting.

She is taking care of her little brother, Koji, because she feels obligated to. Her mother has always been rather busy. In her mind, she likes to exaggarate; does she even remember what the woman looks like? If Koji knew, he'd call her out on it. Their mother is great, charming, fun, a real gem. And she might be, there has to be a reason her father married her, after all. Her mother is the one with the higher income, so it's only natural to be busy. To make that your top priority and not your family. Sometimes she thinks about confronting her father about it, telling him to do something. But she doesn't. She bites her tongue and it makes her grow bitter.
And who knows if her mother is truly doing this all for them? Maybe she is out there having the time of her life. For some reason Mariko envies that possibility.

She calls her father 'old man' every now and again. It simply slips, and she wonders what the students would think. She has a role to live up to; she is the kaichou after all. A kaichou handles everyone with respect but somehow it is a rather difficult thing to do. What does he even do? Why is it her taking care of Koji? Koji doesn't even notice. She wonders why he is getting along so well with everyone, her mother and father included. Dad never takes him out to play baseball. Mum never tells him to get a haircut or goes out to buy new clothes with him. Yet, he loves them all the same, with a big grin on his face. It makes her angry. Why can't she do that? Why is she the one holding a childish grudge? She doesn't mind how her father slacks off half as much as she minds her mother being this occupied.

Mariko is a role-model; good marks and awards everywhere. It's been like this from the very beginning. She barely noticed how distant it made her from her school mates, who would wonder if she might hate them for not being as dedicate as she is. Or maybe not smart enough to hang out with her. In truth, Mariko never gave them much thought to begin with. Everywhere she goes, it is the same. She always wanted to become a student council president, but for what reason exactly? It was hardly about the social factor, although she wouldn't deny the sentiment of being looked up to. What really drove her to work so hard for that goal was proving herself, or her mother, or maybe even her little brother, that she could do so. She was the hard worker in her family.

✰ ETC.

Other:
 - captain of the track club
- can't stand sweet stuff but pancakes with syrup are for some reason an exception
- peels on her wounds but immediately regrets it once they open up
- has a tendency to pull out strands of hair when nervous
- has a scar on her right knee which she used to cover up
- owns an Akita Inu named 'Lion'
- lives in Shimagashi, bordering Minanō
- ISTJ

Relationships:
✘ Eiji Uehara: First person to turn to if she's looking for advice of academical or pure logical nature. As they are both rather quiet people of their own, their interactions never seem to be much about conversing. Mariko quite enjoys Eiji's presence and the lack of talking without there being an unpleasant tension. She trusts his efficiency and cool head.
✘ Etsuko Nishimura: First person to turn to if she's looking for advice of social or interpersonal nature. While Etsuko's upbeat personality can get almost overbearing sometimes, especially if she keeps on calling her Mariko-chan, Mariko does not dislike the Student Council's secretary. Having almost gotten used to the doting and teasing she sees her almost as an older sister of sort, and would like to proof her usefulness to her. She thinks that Etsuko ought to start relying on her too.
✘ Tatsuya Akiyama: Her vice-president and classmate. Their relationship is... of rather awkward nature. Both seem to agree and work effectively as Student Council members (more often than not), but put them together in a social gathering or let alone leave them on their own and they struggle to not flee the scene. While Mariko does respect and like Tatsuya to an extent (and she would most likely never admit liking him in the first place), she does think he has too much of a foul mouth and his expressive nature can be tiring to deal with. He just seems so thoughtless and should definitely start taking things more serious.
✘ Shiori Sakazaki:
✘ Kasumi Morizuka: bluaraghuhaguh kawaiisumi
✘ Kaho Aida: Childhood friends whose relationship is now strained at best. Mariko usually tries to avoid encountering and spending time with her as much as possible, to avert dealing with possible conflicts and stirring up emotions. However, this does not mean she dislikes Kaho. Quite the contrary, she likes Kaho enough to even feel uncomfortable.
